Personality- Loen used to be a very upbeat character who couldn’t bear to see his friends upset. He was the kind of person who didn’t grow attached to many people, but those that he did grow fond of, he’d never let go. He would chase them into the dark. However, this loyalty was what would eventually cause his downfall. After leaving Nibelheim, Loen became very cold and nearly sadistic, sick with vengeance. He has an unbreakable spirit and is never afraid to take a risk. He seems cold and distant now making many question if he has completely lost his Heart. He is also very obedient to the higher-ups. He is always faithful to his duties and will never stray from his path. However, Loen can also be very cold and harsh, pushing people forcefully away from him. The truth is that he is afraid of having the light shine brighter to reveal his blemishes and continues to sink deeper into the darkness, perhaps waiting for someone to pull him out.

History- Nibelheim was one of the first worlds to be attacked by the Heartless. However, as quickly as the darkness arose, it receded and the light shone once more. All those turned into Heartless became human once again except for Loen’s family and friends. He was an orphan and was taken in by a kind couple, despite the fact that they were not so far from his own age. As a matter of fact, they were 19 (he had been 12).

When he was younger, Loen came to resent the light. He understood that darkness existed in everyone’s hearts. Darkness was everywhere but light was everywhere as well to save people from the dark. However, he often questioned why his family had not been saved by the light when everyone else had. When he was younger, he didn’t realize that he was creating a fertile breeding place for the shadows to spread in his heart. However, when his father figure left his adoptive 'mother', that was the last straw. He felt extremely abandoned and when he tried to explain that he was leaving to “find his light”, this only gave Loen another reason to resent it. He began to truly believe it was the light that was tugging all his loved ones away. Then his Keyblade appeared. At first, he tried to suppress his anguish but in the end, he couldn’t take it anymore. He turned to darkness that promised to hand his family back if he joined him and convinced him that the light had no use for him and it would only turn him away.

As of now, Loen has been reunited with his sister, Yura. However, she is still in the body of a Shadow Heartless. He seeks a way to restore her body.

Keyblade- Loen’s Keyblade has a blue eye centerpiece (similar to the Soul Eater and Way to Dawn) while the token looks like the Heartless emblem the coloration of the Nobody symbol (gray with a silver lining). The teeth of the Keyblade is similar to the Chinese symbol for “Blackness” (黑) tilted on its side (the top which looks like a box would be connected to the neck of the Keyblade with the four lines coming off the bottom as the teeth). The Keyblade itself is a dark purple color and the neck is streaked with red. The handle of it is very similar to a pair of black bat wings. Its name is “Black Hole”.
